KEY ISSUES

I have called this community and District 3 home for 35+ years. I am fully prepared to support our educators and offer encouragement in the face of the challenges they face each day.

 

Our public school system is a product that we need to be proud of and prepared to sell to businesses, families, and professionals that are new to our area. We, likewise, need their investment of time, talent, and resources.

STUDENT GOVERNANCE & GUIDANCE

I have four daughters in our school system.

 

We, as parents, deserve to know what is happening in our schools, from the budget to the curriculum.

 

I will â€‹continue to focus on the communication between parents and teachers, and promote engagement by both sides.

I plan to research the amount of guidance given to students as they reach the age of transition to other schools and higher learning, and look for opportunities to build upon the growth plans for each and every student

​

SCHOLASTIC ACHIEVEMENT & PERFORMANCE

Compare our test scores and aptitude measures to the highest achieving state and national comparators.

 

Work with administration to continue, grow, and sustain the available pathways to high school students.

 

Push students past just the Carnegie unit requirements and to make full use of their junior and senior years.

OPERATIONS & STRATEGIC PLANNING

Every penny of revenue matters and must be managed efficiently and transparently. I will continue to improve the cash position of the system.

I will also ensure the daily operations and strategic goals are aligned. 

​

I intend to work with the administration to ensure the strategic plan remains cutting edge and prepared for future challenges. 

​

I plan to oversee the use of critical taxpayer E-Splost funds.  

​

I want people to know that our District pushes the limits on achievement, test scores, and performance. Public education still works!
